Jenny Lucander

Jenny Lucander is a Finland-Swedish picture book artist and illustrator based in Helsinki. She studied children’s book illustration and storytelling at the Gothenburg’s School of Design and Crafts (HDK) and also holds a Master of Social Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology. Jenny Lucander has illustrated several acclaimed children’s books, including Vi är lajon! (We Are Lions!), which won the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize in 2020. Her work has previously been nominated for the same prize in 2016 and 2017, as well as for the Runeberg Junior Prize, the Elsa Beskow Plaque, and the Rudolf Koivu Prize. Jenny Lucander has been nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
