Two girls. Class 4B on a ski day. Snow. Blood, a shoot to the heart. But the girl’s friendship blossoms anew: “our eyes glows straight into each other”. They run away from the slopes and teachers, straight into the forest. The need for freedom, to break free and fulfil their dreams. And the desire for imagination, to the game that unites the children: a gothic, horrorromantic tale about Azharia, the kingdom of freedom.  That’s where they run away to, Arrow Valadon and Amelie Wilson from the village Errit Semir, the village where the dark prince force females to hide their faces.

Snow over Azharia is an illustrated book about friendship, so strong and fragile that it could be love.

Mia Österlund wrote this about Minna Lindeberg and Jenny Lucanders last common picture book: “With Wilder, worse, Smildon the finland-swedish picture books enters a new era”. That book has been nominated to Runebergspriset and Nordiska rådets prize for children’s and youth literature 2017.
