Matilda Ruta is a Swedish picture book maker, illustrator, author, and comics artist. She has been nominated for both the August Prize and the Elsa Beskow Plaque, and was awarded the Lennart Hellsing Scholarship in 2023 for her outstanding contribution to children’s literature. Matilda Ruta is acclaimed for her ability to capture the emotional depth of childhood with warmth, humor, and poetic sensitivity. Her non-fiction picture book Earth Book: Time (2022) has been translated into several languages.
