Per Gustavsson

Per Gustavsson, born 1962, is a Swedish illustrator and children’s book author. He had his debut in 1995, and has since then created several well received books for children. In 2014, he was granted the Elsa Beskow Plaque for his picture book The Shadow Side, and he’s been nominated for the August Prize at three occasions, most recently in 2019. Along with Anders Sparring, he’s created the immensely popular The Pinchers book series, later also recognised from TV.

Between the years 2012-2019, Gustavsson was seated at chair no.1 at the non-profit association Sweden’s children’s book academy. In addition to his fictional work, he’s been writing and illustrating magazines, text books and non-fiction.
