The Robberson Family and the Silver Cup

Anders Sparring & Per Gustavsson

The seventh book about the popular thieving family!

Ture loves school, everything is so easy for him. There is only one problem at school: Teddy, the son of Grizzly Gustavsson, the horror of the school. He calls Ture a beanpole and a tattletale – and a thief. But Ture tries not to pay attention to Teddy. Instead, both he and Ellen are curious about the teacher’s room. What do the teachers hide in there that makes it necessary for them to lock the door? It is a silver cup, the prize of the Swamp Race, an annual race over rough terrain. The situation comes to a head when Teddy and Ture decide to both take part.

With drastic humor and full-color illustrations, the books about the popular family of robbers are the perfect bridge between picture and chapter book, for age 6–9.

The series has been translated to German, Dutch, Danish, Estonian, Czech, Latvian, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian and Polish. The TV series about the family, “A (dis)Honest Christmas with the Robberson’s”, was broadcast in December 2021 on SVT, Sweden’s public service television. A feature film is in the making.

The books have sold over 300,000 copies in Sweden!

“The books about Family Robberson are a clever mix of adventure, silly occurrences, family conflicts, and regular everyday life – and among the best children’s literature we have right now.” Dagens Nyheter

The Jury’s praise:

“Ingenious, well written and with wonderful illustrations. We enjoy stories where we get to both giggle and nod thoughtfully. One can’t help but love the reluctant con artist who tries to do everything right despite his thieving family. No wonder the books are popular with both children and critics alike and have reached far beyond Sweden’s borders. Recently, we have also been able to follow Ture and his family in a popular Christmas calendar on TV. This is a universe that is constantly expanding, and where we like to be. Criminally good!”
