Fofo the Donkey

Fofo the Donkey is old now. He has become delicate and a little fragile, like a biscuit. But for all his one hundred and three years, he carried a very heavy pack on his back, full of questions about the world. He carried so many children, too. And that didn’t mean his hooves travelled only a little: he has been to every corner of the world.
But now he is tired, and he has retired to a forest, with a mirror standing before him. And while he dreams of having a pair of wings, he thinks that maybe the meaning of all those questions can simply fly away, without too much worry. Now he just wants to laugh at everything he has learned, at the days gone by, at the pains he has crossed – and finally feel light, to be able to leave but not disappear.

This is the story of a donkey who carried the weight of the world on his back for his whole life and it is dedicated to all generous and wise old ones: to all the Fofo donkeys!
