White As Snow
Fabian Negrin
A new and original version of one of the best-known fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White, masterfully narrated and illustrated by Fabian Negrin.
Here the protagonist is truly white as snow! Born from a white egg laid by a queen in the northern ice, she is a creature with a swan’s head on her hair, and who appears to be made of ice. And she hides in the ice, almost becoming invisible.
Following the narrative thread of the traditional fairy tale, Snow White is removed at the behest of the Queen and ends up in a new world, full of colour, where she can no longer disappear into the landscape and make herself invisible…
The traditional happy ending is achieved thanks to the prince of the mountain, a pale child with whom Snow White will return to her beloved ices, and to invisibility. A rewriting with an interesting symbolism and metaphors typical of traditional fairy tales, that is also a hymn to privacy in an era when visibility seems almost essential for survival.
