Travelers
Séraphine Menu & Tom Froese
Today, it is perfectly normal to go on vacation to the other side of the world. Yet, two hundred years ago, no one would have dreamt of planning a trip just for pleasure! While travel has always existed, modern tourism wasn’t invented until the 19th century. And since then, millions of us have been crisscrossing the globe.
Join Jo, a seasoned traveler, and discover within these pages, the most popular destinations and monuments, the history of our modes of transportation, different types of housing, the symptoms of jet lag, and even what’s hidden in the suitcases of experienced travelers, along with all their tips and tricks!
Séraphine Menu was born in France in 1990. Shortly after graduating with a degree in Literature she wasn’t ready to work in an office and decided to travel the world. She visited China, Mexico, and Cuba; and lived in India, the UK, and Canada. She is the author of the non-fiction picture books Biomimicry and Solidarity, both published by La Pastèque.
Tom Froese is an award-winning illustrator, teacher, and speaker. He loves making images that make people smile. Tom is known for his lively maps, characters and scenes, created with expressive shapes, bright colours, and printmaking-inspired textures.
