On the Run!

It’s field day and the entire Antlion preschool is going to the soccer field to sing and dance. It’s quite fun, Ilon thinks, but she has been to a field day before. “Shall we go to my house instead,” she says to her new friend Elsa. “I live very close.” So, they do it. They escape! It’s a little scary but mostly exciting, and the way there turns into a magical adventure. Suddenly Ilon realizes that she has no key to the house. Help! What are they going to do now?

On the Run! is a tribute to play and imagination, but it’s also a story about friendship and about when things sometimes don’t quite go as planned.

With the help of vibrant colors and bold perspectives, Katarina Strömgård creates cozy everyday atmospheres as well as grand, wonderful scenes that spread out over pages.
