One day, when we were going home, something strange happened. Mom couldn’t get through the front door! She had suddenly grown too big – her arms and legs were too long. I had to go in by myself and do all the things parents usually do, while she stood outside the kitchen window watching. I took care of the mail, watered the plants, and boiled potatoes. Then we ate on either side of the open window. When I went to the bathroom, she reached in her arm and wiped me. But where would she sleep when night came? When Mom squeezed herself into the hallway and tried to make room anyway—that’s when the crash happened!

No Space for Mom is a multilayered, playful, and warmly humorous picture book about a mother and child and about changing family dynamics.
