The life of Maria Sklodowska, marked by tragic events, but also a story of courage, tenacity, love, solidarity and thirst for knowledge. The death of her mother, the life in the dormitories, the death of one sister, an impossible love … beside all this and despite all this, in Maria’s life there is play, laughter, and above all learning: Maria grows up with the conviction that knowledge is the only richness of life. And this is the driving force of all her choices.
She makes many sacrifices to go to the Sorbonne in Paris, since in her country the universities are closed to women, then the great love for Pierre Curie, the discovery of polonium and radium. And then the death of Pierre. Her love of people and of science prompts her to use her knowledge and discoveries to attend to the wounded in the war.
