(Almost) Invisible Animals

Liselotte Roll & Johanna Magoria

There are countless animals we have never seen and probably never will. Some are so small that no one notices them; others camoufl age themselves or hide deep in the oceans or far underground. For example, the Antarctic amphipod loves icy cold water and lives deep in the sea, under the thick ice, where it has dwelled undisturbed since time immemorial.

(Almost) Invisible Animals is a richly illustrated, surprising, and exciting nonfiction book for curious children. The book also includes craft ideas and tips on how to find some of these wondrous, barely visible animals.

Liselotte Roll is a former archaeologist, journalist, author, and columnist. She has published crime novels in eight countries, as well as a series of thought-provoking nonfiction books about nature and animals for both adults and children.

Johanna Magoria is an illustrator and graphic designer educated at HDK and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She has illustrated several acclaimed children’s books, including The Amarant Family with text by Elin Ruuth.
Her detailed illustrations are hand-drawn in pencil and often feature nature motifs with surreal elements.
