Hanna Klinthage

Hanna Klinthage, born 1992, is a Swedish illustrator of picture books, comics as well as animation. She’s studied at the art and design foundation at Kingston University in London, and graduated from Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm 2017. She won the August Prize in 2023 for Windflowers and Piss Rats, written by Oskar Kroon, which the following year was noticed by the White Raven as well as further longlisted for the Premio Strega award 2025, category 8+.

From the August Prize jury’s motivation:
“[…]Hanna Klinthage’s delicate drawings complete the [story’s] balancing act. In Windflowers and Piss Rats, seriousness plays a role all while light shines with undiminished strength.”
