
Clara Dackenberg
Clara Dackenberg is a children’s book illustrator and visual artist based in Umeå, Sweden. She studied at HDK – the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg – and at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. She made her debut as a picture book illustrator in 2010 with Nu eller kanske Mu – en kärlekshistoria (Now or Maybe Moo – A Love Story).
Clara Dackenberg’s work has been recognized with nominations for prestigious awards such as the August Prize, the Elsa Beskow Plaque, and the Runeberg Junior Prize, and she is a recipient of the Ilon Wikland scholarship. Her artistic style often features collage and paper cutouts, and she has a particular fondness for sculpting in fresh wood. In 2013, she was selected to represent Sweden at the Contemporary Swedish Illustrators exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
