The Greatest Show

Luigi Dal Cin & Virginia Clericetti

Every day a little girl walks past a bench where a man sits, or lies down, among empty bottles and discarded wrappers. When her father calls him an “invisible,” someone nobody notices, something sparks in the girl’s mind: she imagines he must be a great magician, resting after a show. The empty bottles are his juggling props. His white beard comes from the smoke he can make puff from his nose…
And so the girl’s imagination gallops, dreaming for him a grand theatre where everyone applauds him. The bench, empty for days, becomes a sign that in the greatest performance of all, he is still busy performing his invisibility act…

When the grand finale comes, only drawings can bring light. A moving tale is told through the voice of a child and the silence of a homeless man.
