Don’t Cross the Line!
Isabel Minhós Martins & Bernardo P. Carvalho
There was once a general who wanted to be the hero of a story. Now, for someone to become the hero of a story, they must be brave in the face of danger, daring to do what they think is right, for example. But there are many other examples.
The general in this story, however, thought that the quickest way to become a hero was to appear in a book. He didn’t need to do anything special.
This general had an army of guards who followed his orders without batting a eyelid. All and any orders, whatever they might be.
Then, one day, the general took a decision.
A crazy decision, of course…
Press voices
“One of the great releases of this year, earning Planeta Tangerina the Best Children’s Book Publisher award in 2014, at the Bologna International Children’s Book Fair.” Catarina Figueira, Time Out magazine
“An absurd story that will leave you begging for more.” Ana Kotowicz, i newspaper
“(…) a visually hectic, laugh-out-loud masterpiece (…) The beautiful and chaotic felt-tip-penned illustrations breathe life into this book, which is filled to the brim with eclectic characters. This is more than just a visual cacophony, however: this book is a profound statement on dictatorship and peaceful revolution.” Unity Books (NZ)
