Embla is witness to a fight between two pirate ships and when the gunpowder smoke has cleared, she finds what the pirates have been fighting over: a chest has drifted ashore on the island where Embla lives. She expects to find a treasure, but inside the chest is only an old dagger. Legend has it that the dagger is cursed, and soon Embla has no choice but to follow the will of the dagger. Embla embarks on a quest to parts of the world she’s only ever heard tales about.

The Wooden Sword is the third installment of an epic pirate fantasy trilogy, about a brave 11-year old girl who wants to be a pirate more than anything else. But aboard the pirate ship Misery with the ruthless and infamous Captain Ironhand, she realizes that you should be careful of what you wish for. The will of the dagger and Embla’s courage lead her to unexplored places full of animals and creatures, new friends and old curses. Embla’s world grows and grows, but is it big enough to avoid all enemies?

David Renklint has written numerous books since his debut in 2018, for children, young adults and adults, always within the genres fantasy and horror. David has a degree in education, and works as a school librarian.
