We Are Running!

The boys run away from their usual everyday life. They run and make their way around the earth. They observe, think, and experience. Countries, places, and memories are explored on this mysterious journey. On one level, it’s a trip from the child’s world into another, towards maturity and freedom. But it’s also a story that, despite its dark passages, expresses the joy and transcendental feeling of existing and being one with the world.

We Are Running was nominated for the August Prize 2014: “Joar Tiberg’s poetic text is driven by associations and playfulness, Sara Lundberg’s illustrations of forward movement and a stream of colour accents convey enthusiasm. This is a tribute to the joy of existence.”
