Tifo – The Supporters

Josefine Lindén

Tanya, Isak, Fredrik and Oday all come from different backgrounds, but have one thing in common: the passion for their team. They sing among bengals on the stands and waver between hubris and anxiety on the bus towards the away game.

After a heated derby, Isak is assaulted by a security guard outside the arena. Even though he only gets a few stitches, the images of the assault spread like wildfire on social media. The supporters around the country demand justice. In the midst of this, the crush between Isak and Tanya becomes more serious, but can their friendship survive a kiss when one of them regrets it after?

"Stylish, catching young adult book... Tifo it's not just a book about the love for football and supporters, but also a book about young love and sexuality, something the author has managed to portray very well."  SVT

”Josefin Lindén - journalist and author with several books behind her - is a very skilled stylist. Language is sharp, realistic and often dialogue-driven. She conveys without lecturing, she knows how to keep the tension up and avoids Buster-like solutions. One can tell that Lindén spends countless hours on the stands, there is no doubt. She possesses enough love and knowledge to produce snapshots that remind of Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch: And then the concrete shook under him. The cheer broke through his hands and into the ear canal, took right through the heart and let the brain waiting [...] It was minute one of at least ninety and the whole world was in the future. [...] With football as a prism Lindén depicts the dream that lives in every human heart; to belong, touch and be touched. Parents and librarians who want to get young people to read more are hereby informed.” - Aftonbladet
