The Stone Age Kids’ Winter Journey

Bertil Almqvist

For nearly 4 000 years ago, the family Hedenhös lived on the small island Stockholmen in Sweden. The family consisted of the father Ben, mother Knota, and their two children Sten and Flisa, and their dog Urax.  The family also has a horse and a cow. The Hedenhös’ were very fond of traveling and went often on exciting and fun adventures. Bertil Almqvist, who both wrote and illustrated the books, was a versatile person. He was interested in sports, biology, history and current politics, and all of his interests are evident in the books about the Stone Age kids, where he happily mixed together different eras to create exciting adventures while teaching children a little about both history and current events.

In The Stone Age Kids’ Winter Journey follow the family through snowy Stone Age Sweden, as they visit a zoo, check out uncle Hegge’s inscriptions and participate in a skiing race.
