Matilda Ruta

Matilda Ruta, born in 1982, is an artist and illustrator from Stockholm. After her master exam from Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, she has, among other things, worked with children’s books, short stories in comic form, illustration, magazine design, workshops and murals.

Matilda’s illustrations for the book Mirja och pojken i det rosa huset (Mirja and the Boy in the Pink House), was selected for the Swedish exhibition at the Book Fair in Bologna in 2013.

In 2016, she was nominated for the Elsa Beskow Plaque for her picture book Ninna och sjukhusfåglarna (Nina and the Hospital Birds) and for the August Prize for Åka buss (The Bus Ride), written by Henrik Wallnäs.
